Bikeability next week (6/3/23)
Dear parent/carer,
Just a reminder that we have our Bikeability sessions next week, with our first session being on Monday. Please make sure your child brings in their bike, helmet and wears suitable clothing and footwear. If they have a lock, please can they use the bike racks to store their bike.

Gainsborough Library Trip
Dear parents/carers,
As part of World Book Day celebrations and as one of our 50 things to do before you leave Morton, Year 5 will be walking to Gainsborough Library on Friday 3rd March.
We will be able to use our class card to take out books which will need to be kept in our classroom for reading time at school.
Please can the children come in comfortable footwear.
The forecast is currently looking dry, but please can they come in a suitable coat, should it rain.

This week in Year 5
Good afternoon,
I just wanted to tie everything together to give you an overview of our exciting Christmas week! :)
Wednesday: We will be walking to the Pantomime so I have reminded the children to bring coats, hat, scarves and gloves. They can also wear trainers if these are more comfortable. In the afternoon, we will be cooking Spaghetti Bolognese! If the children would like to bring some home, please send them with a labelled tub and please bear in mind that the meat will have already been cooked.
Thursday: We will have time for board games/cards on Thursday afternoon, so if they would like to bring any non-electrical games, please do. These can stay in school for Friday afternoon too, if children would like to continue to play during the Christmas party.
Friday: An email has been sent out with the details of the party. Optional Christmas clothing, but we will have a coach to deliver activities so suitable clothing for outdoor please. If you are able to, please bring in sweet items for our Christmas party.

Update: Year 5 PE Days
Year 5 PE days Good afternoon,
Thank you to everyone who attended our celebration event last week; it was wonderful to see the children discuss their learning!
Next half term, we are lucky to have a coach from Gainsborough Trinity delivering Circuit Training.
As a result, our PE days will now be Tuedays and Fridays so your child will need to come dressed in their PE kit on these days.
This will start from next week.

On Friday 21st October, we will be celebrating Harvest Festival at the church.
Our service will start at 10.30am and we will arrive back at school at approximately 11.30am.
If you are able to volunteer to support walking the children to church, please let myself, Mrs Bradshaw or Mrs Bainborough know.

Hello Parents/Carers of new Y5 children!
It has been a brilliant start to Year 5 and the children have all settled amazingly!
I am just letting you know that there will be a 'Meet the Teacher' meeting in the Y5 classroom on Wednesday 14th September at 9am. It will be a chance for us to meet and for me to let you know all about what to expect from this new school year. I am looking forward to meeting you all but if you are unable to attend, I will put the PowerPoint on the class page of the school website for you to view after the meeting.
