We aim to deliver a high quality Physical Education curriculum alongside our School Sport enrichment opportunities. This gives children of all backgrounds and abilities the opportunity to develop physical skills, resilience, teamwork and leadership.
Our PE curriculum and sporting opportunities are many and varied; we see this as fundamental in the development of the whole child and recognize the role it has to play in promoting a healthy life and a physically active lifestyle. We deliver this through engaging PE topics, extracurricular clubs, inspirational coaching, motivational visitors and our competition offer.
As the proud recipients of a School Games Platinum School Award, we also aim to provide every child with the opportunity to represent Morton Trentside and compete as part of a team.
Throughout our PE curriculum and our School Sport offer to all children, we place huge importance on the application of our school values (care, thrive, achieve and inspire) as well as those of the School Games (resilience, reflection, trust, determination, respect and responsibility). We aim to apply these within our inter- and intra-school competition offer to encourage and foster the lifelong benefits and enjoyment of physical activity.
The PE curriculum coverage document is subject to change. This is because we take every opportunity to accept support from providers such as Hockey England and Lincolnshire Cricket. We also have one-off events; Kixx, Gainsborough Trinity Foundation and a local MMA club have been recent visitors and we have also had visits from various athletes and inspirational visitors such as the adventurer Sarah Outen. These visits might then spark an interest from the children (such as den building) which is then worked into the long-term plan to encourage our "something for everyone" ethos.
Our sports teams are sponsored by PING Europe!
PING sponsored us an amazing £1000 for new kits. PING also sponsor staff polo shirts and fleeces to support Active Minutes and PE. Not only have PING sponsored the kits, an annual trophy is also presented to a Year 6 pupil who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to PE and school sport.
