Play Avenue - what a fantastic day we have had trying out all the different occupations we could choose when we are older.

Golden Mile - Today we have all completed the Golden Mile

PE sequencing movements

Today in PE we practised putting a sequence of movements and balances together.

Hockey Heroes from today’s coaching session

Practising our phonics - we have been doing this in so many ways! Writing letters to be delivered in our Post Office and working out the first sound of objects and writing out what they are. We have been matching capital letters with their lower cases and practising our alphabet - so much fun to be had.

Mindfulness - Guided meditation. We listened to a story today about a spaceship to the moon.

In Science this week we have been looking at different parts of plants. We went on a nature walk around our nature garden to see what we could find.

Art - This week we have been exploring how to use powder paint and make different textures.

In geography we have been looking at various maps and identifying features within our school and it’s surroundings.

Geography

PE in P.e today we have looked at how to balance on small and large body parts.

Art - Today in art we have introduced the children to Vincent Van Gogh and talked about which colours he used in his paintings. The children have all had a go at mixing primary colours and talked about what colours this then made.

Geography - learning the four main compass points.

We have just started a new RE topic and went outside to try and find natural things in creation. We found lots of things.

Active minutes - we used our active minutes to help us learn to spell some things that Bob (from the story we are doing) would need to help clean the moon,

First day! The children have settled in so well, they have been fantastic and we have been so busy. Making dens, creating images of ourselves and writing our names, playing games, building lego and getting ourselves into Year One routines.

We will add images each week of lessons and activities that children have enjoyed.
