Maths Homework

The expectation for the end of Year 3 is that children know their times tables for x2, x5, x10, x3, x4 and x8

Children will each have individual tables, which they are working on – which they know. The quicker they know their tables the better as it helps with so many different areas of maths.

Bronze certificate – To be able to recite their times table eg 1x2=2, 2x2=4 etc

Silver certificate – To be able to answer random times questions on that table

Gold – To be able to provide the multiplication fact when given only the product or answer

Children will be given the times table they are working on each week.

Spellings will be sent home each Friday and tested on the Friday of the following week.  Children can record their score and any words they still need to practise each week.

Your child has a homework book which will be updated each Friday with new spelling words and times tables to practise.

Please ensure your child hands their homework book in by Wednesday each week.

Times Tables Rock Stars

The school now has a subscription for TTRockStars to help children practise their times tables.  Your child has been given a log in to keep in their homework  book so they are able to access these games at home.

Children should play Garage and Arena as these have been set to Year 3 tables at their own level, so that all the children are able to achieve and enjoy the game.  If children play the other areas, they will be given multiplication and division questions from all tables.
