Remote Learning

Remote Learning Plan January 2021

We want all children to continue learning throughout this uncertain period of possible isolation or class closures, whether they are learning at home or at school.

We will continue to make the health and  well-being of our children and parents our main priority.

For those of our children who will be spending periods of time working from home, we recognise that school cannot be replicated at home.

In order for home learning to be successful, it is important for families to establish a routine that works for them.  We understand that different families work in different ways. Some prefer a clearly defined structure to learning at home whilst others prefer a more flexible approach. Some prefer to have lots of work provided by school to be getting on with while others would prefer less.

Termly Class Overviews

Each class has created a document for the term which comprises both core and non-core learning which is on a par with the lessons taught in class.  Some subjects such as maths are the exact same lessons as delivered in the classroom and other subjects are a similar topic but with access to a relevant teaching and learning sequence to support children at home.

Your child’s class teacher will also be available for you to contact via email for support or additional work.  Children can message their class teacher directly on ClassDojo for help as needed.

If you do not have access to the internet, or have any queries please contact your child’s class teacher via email or phone the school Office on 01427 613472, so we can find a way to support you and your child with a manageable remote learning plan for your circumstances. We have laptops available to loan out for families to use at home as needed so that children can access learning easily.

Additional learning packs

Each class has shared learning packs so that families have additional work if children feel they want to do more.  This is not expected, merely prepared for those who wish to access it.

Bubble closure

Your child’s class teacher will set work via ClassDojo. Children have been shown how to use this in school.

EYFS and Year 1 will be setting weekly tasks.

Year 2 through to Year 6 will set daily tasks on ClassDojo.

A member of staff will be telephoning weekly to maintain contact between school and home and to provide feedback on learning.  Your child’s class teacher will also be available for you to contact via ClassDojo for support or additional work.

In the event of a class bubble closure, your child may be required to access the following learning platforms.
