We've had a very busy Christmas week this week! We started the week by learning about Christingles, then we made our very own. We had to fight the temptation of eating the sweets straight away! We had our Christmas Jumper and dinner day then our Santa Run.
This week we have been busy making our Christmas crafts. We had a new class mate join on Tuesday, Elvis the Elf. We have loved coming in every morning to see what he has been up to!! :-)
This week we focused on the story Owl Babies. We used Cheerios and carefully put them onto a pipe cleaner that create bird feeders. We took them home to hang in our gardens.
This week we're looking at Woodland Animals. We learnt new facts about hedgehogs and made fork print spiky hedgehog pictures. We spoke about animals that are awake at night and that they are called nocturnal animals. We made toadstools and used cotton buds to make white spots.
We made cards for the residents at a local nursing home to put big smiles on their faces because they are missing their families.
In PE we played parachute games, it was lots of fun!
This week we have been learning about Diwali. We've been making Diva Lamps which are thought to bring good luck and wealth into the home. We've been colouring beautiful Rangoli patterns and playing in coloured rice, designing our own patterns.
We also showed respect and sat in silence for 2 minutes thinking of special people then we made amazing poppy pictures, they're so pretty! See our pictures below!
We completed the Golden Mile with our sports coaches, we ran so fast!
Wow! What a busy week back we've had! We've created a firework display picture with paint and glitter, drew patterns in the glitter, had a firework party with glow sticks and dancing, made chocolate sparklers and played musical instruments as loud as fireworks!!
This week we've had an Autumn Week, creating pictures of owls, falling leaves from trees, pumpkin washing and exploring.
I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down!! This week we have acted out the story of The Three Little Pigs. We've loved colouring in pictures of the pigs, their houses and the wolf. We've created the 3 houses using straw, sticks and painted bricks. We had a very busy PE lesson, moving around different stations, balancing, jumping and so much more.Tell your family how amazing you were! Our classroom had a new arrival at the start on the week, a new water tray that we've loved playing in.

Someone's been eating my porridge! Someone's been sitting in my chair! Someone's been sleeping in my bed and they're still there!!
This week we have been reading Goldilocks and the three bears. We've been mixing porridge oats and playdough and serving it up in small, medium and large size bowls. Acting out the story and making bear bread! We could choose from jam or honey to spread onto our toast. It was really yummy!
Run run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man!!
This week we have designed our own gingerbread men, explored scented play dough, read the story and acted it out. We have also been learning about the number 2 and we went for a walk around the field to find 2 things that were the same. We couldn't resist rolling down the hill! We explored the scented garden in the schools quiet area and found some tomatoes growing on the plant!
This week we read the story ‘The Runaway Pea’. We’ve used vegetables and paint to create pictures and used different equipment to mash, scoop and mix up peas. Planted a seed into a clear cup ready to take home so we can watch how it grows, just like the runaway pea in the story! We also performed our class song this week which is on the Children tab then click Morton Videos. :-)
Wow what a busy week we've had! Because the weather has been so beautiful, we've spent lots of time outside in the sunshine . We've spoken about our families and drew pictures for our books. We read the story 'My mum and dad make me laugh' and decorated biscuits to make them look spotty because in the story mum likes spots.
We've had such a brilliant first full week at school! We've been building, painting, making mud pies and so much more!
