Reading Workshop and Sharing stories afternoon.
Reading for pleasure and sharing stories is such an important and valued part of learning to us at Morton Trentside.
As such, on Tuesday 29th January Mrs Bell will be holding a short twenty minute workshop in the school hall (2:40pm – 3pm) which all parents/carers/grandparents of the school are welcome to attend.
I will be offering some guidance on ways to encourage your children from the beginning of their journey to learn to read, through reading for pleasure and how to support your child once they are independent readers. Also, I will share some ideas on how to encourage reluctant boy readers to enjoy reading too.
There will be a reading guidance booklet with all of this information discussed provided for you to take away with you too.
From 3pm – 3:20pm all parents/carers/grandparents are invited to sit in the hall with their child/children and share stories with them (you do not have to attend the first workshop if you do not wish to). These can either be some of your own favourites you bring with you or we will have a selection of books from our own library available to share.
