5th January 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your patience during these difficult times and I apologise if you feel a bit inundated with messages from school. It has been a whirlwind of a day and we are still receiving guidance and updates from the Government! I will try to streamline the messages more going forward!
Below are a few updates that I hope you will find helpful:
Yes, the videos are back! I can only apologise! Please follow the link to see our staff video explaining what will happen next regarding remote learning.
Teachers will be setting daily work from Monday 11th January on ClassDojo, however in the meantime please follow the link and click on your year group for the learning for the rest of this week (48-hour pack).
Free school Meals:
We are waiting for further guidance from the Government regarding FSM, so in the meantime we have organised hampers for this week. They will be delivered on Thursday to you home.
Key Worker Provision:
Due to the criteria change, we like many other schools are finding that the requests for places in the keyworker provision is significantly higher than the previous lockdown. Some schools have already moved to stricter criteria such as only accepting children where both parents are keyworkers.
The high numbers of request for places is becoming a challenge to for us to adequately staff, and in our efforts to protect all members of the school community whilst offering quality home learning to those children not in school, we may also have to make the difficult decision to implement stricter criteria. We will try our very best not to but if numbers continue to rise we may have to.
Whilst we appreciate this is an incredibly difficult time and want to support all our families, we must please ask that those children requiring key worker provision are only those who cannot stay at home or have no other childcare options from a support bubble.
Whilst it is regrettable that school is closed to many pupils, we have to acknowledge that the COVID-19 pandemic is at a grave point at the moment, only by reducing our local community movements and contacts will we reduce transmission.
Please do not come into school but communicate with us via email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01427 613472. The school phones and emails will be manned from 8 45 to 3 45pm.
Thank you so much for your support and positive comments! We will get through this. Please email me if you have any concerns.
