Vikings Before and After School Club will be open from September 3rd. Children attending the afterschool club who finish at 3 10pm will wait in their classrooms until 3 30pm (More details will be sent out soon).

There will be no extra-curricular clubs for term 1.

Entering and Exiting the School Site for Pupils

  • Only one adult must enter the school premises with their child.
  • Social distancing signs will be placed around the school as a reminder.
  • Social distance markers (green circles) sprayed on the playgrounds ensure parents/ children keep to the social distancing rule.
  • A one-way system is highlighted with arrows. All visitors must follow the one-way system.
  • Parents and children will need to wait away from the school (perhaps in their car) if they arrive early. Please adhere to the start and end times, these are in place in order to keep everyone safe.
  • Only one adult may accompany a child to or from the playground.
  • To prevent congestion both the Front gate and Southland gates will be open; please either use the following Front one-way system or Southlands one-way system.

FRONT GATE:

  • Please enter on foot and follow the arrows across the staff inner carpark and through the large playground. Green circle markers will help you maintain social distancing rules.
  • At the end of the playground is a marked square drop off zone with a sign saying no parents beyond this point.
  • Teachers will stand at the designated doors for each year group and welcome children from their class into school.
  • On arrival, each adult and child pair must part at the designated drop zones on the playground, allowing for the child to walk independently across the playground to the door.
  • Senior staff will be available at the drop zones to support any child who may need a bit of extra encouragement and guide them across the playground.
  • Parents then must follow the one-way system arrows which exits at the outer carpark pedestrian gate.
  • Year 6 will follow the yellow circles to the Year 6 outside classroom door and enter from there.

SOUTHLANDS GATE:

  • Please enter via the usual Southland Pedestrian gate.
  • Green circles will ensure you keep to the social distancing rules from each parent up the narrow path.
  • At the end of the narrow path is a marked square drop off zone with a sign saying no parents beyond this point.
  • Parents then must follow the one-way system arrows which exits across the grass area and out through the double field gates.

• When collecting children at the staggered end time of the school session, parents will need to wait on the marker circles to socially distance from one another. Staff will stand at the doors and send children to the designated drop off and pick up zones as they see their parents.

• When children are collected, parents should leave straight away to allow the next parent to move to the circle in front of the drop off and pick up zone.

• Communication with adults in school will either be done through email or by telephone. No face to face conversations will be able to happen.

• Please do not enter via the school office. All communication with office staff must be via telephone or email. • Late arrivals must not enter the school but wait outside the front of school. Parent must then ring the office to let the school know they are there. A member of the senior leadership team will come out to collect the child. We hope that this will be a rarity.

• Late pick up children will be sent to Vikings After School Club at 3 30pm and parents may incur a charge.
