Please note that as of Monday the 8th of May, Year 1 will be doing PE on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please ensure your child has their kit in school on both days. Thank you for your continued support with this, Mrs Robinson.

Dear parents and carers,

On the  afternoon of Thursday 27th Year 1 will be exploring the wooded area next to the school field and undertaking some outdoor learning activities around our new topic, The Enchanted Woodland. As we are leaving the immediate school area, we would appreciate volunteers to ensure safety and help us with our activities. Please let either the office or myself know if you would be able to help us with this,

Many thanks,

Mrs Robinson

This term (Summer) PE will be on a Tuesday. Please ensure your child has their kit in school on Tuesdays.
PE will be on a Monday. Please ensure your child has their labelled kit with them. Children no longer need to come to school in their kit as our PE slot has changed. Many thanks, Mrs Robinson.
We will be having a special visit from Sam Safari on Monday the 9th of January to start off our Paws, Claws and Whiskers topic. We will have the opportunity to see many different types of animals, their features and learn their names. You can see what Sam Safari does by following the link: http://www.samsafaris.co.uk/Samsafaris/Welcome.html

Many children have begun to take home Accelerated Reader books. These are identified with coloured stickers on the spine. Each book has an associated test to check your child’s comprehension after reading the book. This helps us to track and progress your child’s reading. It is very important that your child takes the test as soon as possible after completion of the reading book. A board to write names on has been placed on the wall near the water bottle tray. Please encourage your child to remember to write their name on the board when they have finished their book so they can take the test. Please continue to read with your child as often as possible. Thank you.

Please can you ensure that your child's reading books are in school at all times as we only have one opportunity a week to swap them. This is currently usually done on a Tuesday, though this does vary and can be Mondays or Wednesdays. Thank you, Mrs Robinson

Please could your child bring a spare pair of shoes to go on a seasons walk on Monday the 5th of December. They will also need suitable clothing to keep warm as we will be going in any waether unless it is really pouring down.

Many thanks for your continued support,

Mrs Robinson

Please can children bring a special gift into school on Tuesday the 8th of November for our RE session. If you do not wish you child to bring their item into school, please could they bring a picture or photo of it so they can still talk about it to the class. Many thanks for your continued support, Mrs Robinson.

Year 1 will have the opportunity to partake in a Gum Boot dancing workshop during the afternoon. For this they will need to bring in a pair of wellies on the day. If this poses a problem, please let me know and we will be able to arrange something to ensure everyone can take part.

The Key Stage 1 Harvest Festival will take place on Wednesday the 19th October. Year 1 have decided to perform the Harvest Samba. As part of this we would like to hold up the items mentioned in the song, and hope you would be able to help us with this. Each child has been randomly assigned some produce, please could this be sent in by Monday the 17th to ensure we have everything we need. If you are struggling with anything, please let me know and we will be able to sort something out so everyone has something to hold. Sugar beet and actual wheat may be a little tricky, so if anyone knows where to get hold of some of these please let us know.

We will also need volunteers to help us walk to the church. Please let me or Mrs Lord in the office know if you can help us with this this.

Many thanks for your continued support,

Mrs Robinson.

If you would like to join us for the day, please come and see me in the playground or send an email to the office. A letter detailing the specifics will be coming out nearer the time. Many thanks, Mrs Robinson.
To maximise learning time, please can children come to school in their PE kits on Monday mornings, with their uniforms in their PE bags. Many thanks, Mrs Robinson.
